Hi, my name is Miss Kate! I am 19 years old and have been dancing for 16 years now. Dance has been a big part of my life! I have danced at Julie Moffitt Ballet School for all 16 of those years. I have done many different styles of dance including ballet (of course), tap, jazz, modern, character, and even a little bit of West African dance. I had the privilege of performing many roles throughout my time as a student including, Sugar Plum Fairy, The Snow Queen, Miette the Breadcrumb Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, and many corps roles. I graduated high school in 2019 as well as completing the student teacher 5-year program here at JMBS. I became a teacher in August of 2019 and have loved every second of it! I have tried to teach my students as my teachers taught me — with love. I believe that the classroom should be a safe space where the students are willing to talk to the teacher and trust them. My goals as a teacher is to create that safe space and be that trusted teacher. I love all my students and hope that they find the same love for dance that I did as a student because of all my amazing teachers at JMBS. I am in college right now pursuing an Associates of Paramedic Studies with a plan to graduate spring of 2021.
