Emma
Gonzales

Instructor

Emma is a lifelong resident of North Ogden and has been at Julie Moffitt Ballet School for almost as long. She began as a student at JMBS in 2005 and began teaching in 2021. She discovered her love of teaching as a student teacher and found herself back in the studio in no time after graduating high school. Emma is a passionate teacher who loves her students and believes in creating a safe space that encourages serious technique alongside laughter and fun.

There have been a lot of opportunities for Emma to practice creativity in her time at the studio with choreography, photography, illustration, and the studio’s social media accounts. She truly believes that this is her “dream job”.

Emma loves to continue learning ballet and pointe technique and has sought out different training opportunities including summer intensives at Tanner Dance and ArtÉmotion, as well as numerous workshops through the University of Utah and Ballet West. She still attends ArtÉmotion’s adult ballet intensive each year where she learns from current and former professional dancers at the Ballet West Studios in SLC. It brings her joy to share what she’s learned with her students each year.

Aside from her work at JMBS, Emma enjoys crafting, art, traveling when time permits, being in nature, and spending time with her cat.
