Recital News!
Spring is finally here! The studio is making plans for our Spring Production "Art Moves Me" on May 15, 2010. There will be two performances. The matinee show is at 1:00pm and the evening show is at 6:00pm. Your child will be in one of them or both. Matinee and evening schedules will be posted on the J.M.B.S. information board in April. Also, look for the recital posters being posted on April 1st. Posters are available to purchase for $10.00. Tickets go on sale March 15th for $5.50.
COSTUMES... All costumes, recital fees and tuition MUST be current and paid in FULL in order to receive costumes. Costumes will be given out March 1 through April 22. Please label, steam, and hang up your costume and DO NOT play in it. Check out the costume book at the front desk to see a picture of your costume. Costume alterations should be finished by April 22nd. Please see Miss Julie if you have not received your costume before picture day.
Picture Day - Saturday, April 24th
Picture day is Saturday, April 24th from 8:00am to 8:30pm at the studio. See your photo shoot time on the information board. All students MUST be present whether they purchase pictures or not. DO NOT BE LATE! We are on a tight schedule, if you arrive late you will be missing in the picture. Bring your Picture Order Form filled out and make your checks payable to DC Snaps. Pictures will be delivered the week of Hawiian Luau parties.
Attendance Policy
Attendance in dance class is extremely important in order to have a successful recital. No unexcused absences allowed. Always call the studio when you cannot come to class for any reason. Thank you!
Volunteers needed for Recital!
We are asking for parents help backstage during your child's performance. Please be available for dress rehearsal and performance. Volunteers will be given 3 additional recital tickets. Please see Miss Julie. The volunteer sign up form is in the lobby. You are very appreciated!
Mandatory Parent's Meeting
The meetings are April 12 - 17th during your child's ballet class. ALL PARENTS MUST ATTEND. Direction for dress rehearsals, picture day, and recital details will be given. Including: hair, make-up, times, dates, parking instructions, video orders, pictures, etc. Parents attending the meeting will be given 2 complimentary recital tickets (must be present). You may purchase additional tickets for $5.50. Seats are limited.
Recital Trophies, Awards, and Program
At the May Parents Forum we discussed ways to keep recital costs down as the cost of recitals keep going up. It was conclusive that only younger children really enjoy trophies, so we will only be giving "Recital Participation" trophies to dance students ages 3-12. We will give trophies for the "Most Dedicated Dancer" and the "Most Improved Dancer". "Perfect Attendance" awards will now be recognized on stage with a certificate in place of a trophy. The 3-18 year pins will continue. The recital program costs will be cut by reducing pages and color. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Re-enrolling Registration and Summer Dance
Re-enrolling Registration day is May 21-22. Sign up for your specific time slot at the parents meeting and pick up a registration packet. Re-enrollment fee is $25.00 per family ($15.00 students enrolled 3 or more years) Nutcracker fee is also due, $80.00 per student. Late Re-enrolling registration day is June 5th. Students registering on June 5th or later will be charged a $10.00 late fee regardless of the reason. Thank you for your cooperation.
2nd Annual Parent/Student Forum
Saturday, May 29th at 2:00pm. ALL parents and students are invited! We want your ideas!
J.M.B.S. Elite and Jr. Elite Performing Troupe will perform Thursday, April 22nd at the North Ogden Senior Center at 5:00pm and Wednesday, June 23rd at the Golden Hours Senior Center at 10:30am. These are students who have progressed to levels IV to Advanced.
